The biggest update since launch. Build your team, invite your squad, chat in your color, run polls before practice, and bring the locker room into Offseason. Plus a cleaner tab bar, ambassador badges on posts, and Field Hockey added across the app.

Highlights

  • Create and customize your team — name, sport, school, one of 8 team colors, and open or approval-required join mode
  • Invite teammates by username with in-app invite cards, or share your 6-character join code anywhere
  • Team Chat branded in your team color, with a pinned message banner captains can edit anytime

Teams

  • Create a team with name, sport, school, color (8 options), and join mode (open or approval-required)
  • Join any team via a 6-character invite code
  • Team detail page — header with your team color gradient, top highlights leaderboard, full roster with captain crown badges, and quick action buttons
  • Captain tools — promote members to captain, remove members, approve or deny join requests, change join mode, and delete the team
  • Team Customize — captains can edit team name, sport, school, and color anytime after creation
  • In-app team invite cards in DMs that sync live for both sender and recipient when accepted or declined
  • Invite banner on the Teams page when you have pending invites
  • Moments from Teammates row on the team page — see active moments from your squad, collapses when none are active
  • Leave Team option for all members, with Delete Team reserved for the original creator

Team Chat

  • Branded with your team color throughout — pinned banner, captain badges, accents
  • Bigger, more visible pinned message banner that captains can edit anytime
  • Captain badge appears next to captain messages in your team color
  • System message announces new members joining ("🏆 username joined the team")
  • Polls — captains and members can post polls with 2 to 4 options via the + button next to the message field. Tap to vote, tap again to remove. Live percentage bars in your team color. Tap the response count to see who voted for what — built for things like "coming to practice Saturday?"
  • Team chats appear in your Messages list with a branded row, sport icon, team color accent, and a TEAM pill

Tab Bar & Navigation

  • Teams tab added to the main tab bar — Home, Search, Teams, Messages, Profile
  • Settings moved from the tab bar into your Profile toolbar — a gear icon alongside the share button
  • Follow request badge moved to the Profile tab where it belongs

Ambassadors & Announcements

  • Ambassador badge pill renders on every post from official Ambassadors — gradient orange-gold with a megaphone icon, always first in the sports row
  • New in-app feature announcements — when a new update ships, you'll see a clean popup on first open explaining what's new
  • Announcements only show once per user per release

Profile Share

  • Share button in your profile generates a portrait card built for stories

  • Universal links via joinoffseason.com/profile/username open the app directly when installed, fall back to the App Store when it isn't
  • Card saves to your photo library before the share sheet opens, so Instagram and Snapchat both work cleanly
  • New invite button in the profile toolbar opens a share sheet with your App Store link

Feed & Discovery

  • The Following feed empty state now has a "Find Athletes" button that opens suggested athletes directly
  • Suggested athletes appended to the end of your moments row — same circles, plain border instead of the gradient ring so it's clear they aren't moments
  • End of feed easter egg — Offseason wordmark with an ambient glow pulse and a rotating motivational message
  • Trending placeholder section removed

Home Feed Toolbar

  • Logo now sits left-aligned in the toolbar as the principal item
  • Leaderboard pill moved up next to the notification bell
  • Leaderboard button switches to urgency copy as the week closes — "2 days left 🏆" on Thursday, "Last day! 🏆" on Friday
  • Tighter toolbar spacing — no more big gap above the moments row

Notifications

  • 24 hour post recap — get a push showing how many likes and comments your post got, 24 hours after you shared it
  • Posts that don't get any engagement skip the recap so you only hear good news
  • "Teammate return" — when someone you follow posts for the first time in 2+ weeks, you get notified
  • New scheduled notifications system runs every 30 minutes behind the scenes

Featured Posts

  • Posts featured by Offseason now appear in feed with a golden gradient border
  • "Highlight of the Week" badge with a star icon appears below the post header
  • One post can be featured at a time — refreshed weekly

Onboarding

  • The three action cards on the activation screen now deep link to real destinations
